Heresztyn, located in Burgundy, bears a name that is not French but comes from Jan Heresztyn, a native of Poland. Jan Heresztyn arrived in France in 1932 due to the severe labor shortage in the country at that time. He chose to settle in Gevrey-Chambertin and gradually acquired vineyards. By 1959, he owned 4 hectares of land. Jan's two sons took over the business, with Stanislas serving as the cellar master and Bernard overseeing the vineyards and winemaking. Bernard's wife, Chantal, managed sales and distribution. Through the collective efforts of the family, they expanded their vineyard holdings to the current 11 hectares. In 2012, the winery was renamed Heresztyn-Mazzini.

The winery follows the lunar calendar to determine every stage of cultivation and winemaking. The average age of the vineyards is approximately 45 years. The extraction process involves a 3 to 6-day cold maceration with a high proportion of stems. Only wild yeast is used for fermentation. For wines from Chambolle and most premier cru and grand cru vineyards, stainless steel vats are utilized. For regional and village-level wines from Gevrey, concrete vats are employed. The exclusive Gevrey Clos Village and the premier cru vineyard "Les Goulots" undergo maceration in wooden barrels. The percentage of new barrels ranges from 5-10% for entry-level wines, 25-35% for premier cru, and 50% for grand cru. Although the winery's history is relatively long, its wines did not make it onto Allen Meadows' tasting list initially. However, since 2014, the winery has received high praise from Allen Meadows, gaining international recognition and proving itself on par with top wineries.
