Heymann Lowenstein is a premium German winery with a 500-year-old winemaking history, spanning thirteen generations. The estate, spanning approximately 17 hectares, is located in Winningen in the Mosel Valley. It is managed by top winemaker Sarah Lowenstein.
Each of their high-quality wines is the result of the collaboration between nature and human intervention. The vineyards are primarily situated on steep slopes, with up to eight different types of soil. As a result, the estate has been recognized as a first-class winery by the VDP German Prädikat Wine Estates.
The winery primarily cultivates "98% Riesling" and "2% Pinot Noir." Each wine has its own distinct personality due to the diversity of the soils. Therefore, every bottle from Heymann Lowenstein is full of surprises.
After careful handpicking, the best grapes are selected and sorted meticulously. The wines undergo slow fermentation using natural yeasts to capture a balanced acidity and sweetness. Their wines have received high praise from renowned wine critics, including Robert Parker and Jancis Robinson, earning them top ratings.
In this case, the wine is made with only 2% Pinot Noir, making it particularly suitable for wine enthusiasts with some aging experience who are looking to indulge in a delightful experience.
