Il Poggione

In the 19th century, along with Biondi-Santi and Frescobaldi, Il Poggione was among the pioneering Italian wineries to produce Brunello di Montalcino wines. This led to Brunello di Montalcino becoming one of the first eight regions to receive official D.O.C. certification in Italy in 1966. In 1980, it further became the first to achieve the highest D.O.C.G. status, solidifying its position as one of the premier wine regions, alongside Barolo.

Today, Tenuta Il Poggione stands as a top-tier star winery within the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The estate has gained a stellar reputation for producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique character of the region.
