Kavalan is the first whisky distillery in Taiwan, located in Yilan. Led by the chairman of King Car Group, a team of experienced researchers and developers traveled to Scotland, Japan, and other whisky-producing regions worldwide to learn and gain inspiration. They visited renowned whisky distilleries, meticulously studied and tasted hundreds of spirits, which led to the determination of the distillation equipment specifications and the flavor profile of their whisky.

Established in 2005, Kavalan completed its distillery in just nine months. On a memorable afternoon in March 2006, at 3:30 PM, they distilled their first "New Make" spirit. The celebrated "Solist" series, featuring single cask whiskies aged in Sherry casks, was launched in 2010. These expressions have received numerous prestigious awards in world-class whisky competitions such as the World Whisky Awards, San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), and International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC). Kavalan's whiskies have proven their excellence on the global stage, rivaling those from Scotland.

Today, Kavalan has gained a remarkable reputation in the whisky world. The unique climate conditions in Taiwan contribute to the maturation process, allowing for faster aging compared to Scotland. This enables them to produce high-quality whiskies more rapidly, meeting market demands and expanding their reach worldwide. Kavalan has become a highly sought-after brand, with a captivating aroma and exceptional quality that instantly captures the attention of whisky enthusiasts.
