Located in the heart of Alsace, La Grange de l'Oncle Charles (Uncle Charles's Barn) has rapidly emerged as a leading name in the French natural wine movement since its founding in 2014. Led by Jérôme François, a former carpenter turned artisan winemaker, the estate operates on a philosophy of profound respect for nature and ancestral traditions.

The winery is renowned for its strict adherence to biodynamic farming across its 5.5 hectares of vines. Avoiding all heavy machinery to prevent soil compaction, Jérôme utilizes horse-drawn plows and allows sheep to graze freely for natural fertilization. A hallmark of the estate is the practice of complantation, where different grape varieties (such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer) are grown and harvested together from a single plot to express the "terroir" rather than the individual grape variety.

In the cellar, intervention is kept to an absolute minimum. The wines are fermented with native yeasts, aged in old oak vats, and bottled without fining or filtration, often with zero added sulfur. The resulting wines—like the complex La Belle Colline or the vibrant Jeu de Vent—are celebrated for their purity, saline minerality, and incredible vitality, making them highly sought after by collectors in 2025.
