Lagavulin

According to historical records, Lagavulin distillery was established in 1816, one year later than its Islay counterparts, Laphroaig and Ardbeg. Despite having a history of 200 years, Lagavulin has released relatively few expressions in recent decades. In fact, they only have three core expressions: the 12-year-old, 16-year-old, and Distiller's Edition. It is quite rare for a large distillery to have such a limited range of products. However, despite having only three core expressions, Lagavulin consistently produces whiskies of exceptionally high quality, and they are generally priced reasonably.

The 16-year-old expression from Lagavulin is produced with a deliberate and slow pace throughout the fermentation and distillation processes. The goal is to create a whisky with a smoother mouthfeel. The distillery's commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail have earned them a well-deserved reputation. Lagavulin whiskies have been highly acclaimed not only in major international competitions where they have won numerous awards but also among Single Malt enthusiasts who consider them to be exceptional works of art.
