Leoville Barton is a renowned estate that is considered one of the "Super Seconds" in the Bordeaux wine region. The term "Super Second" refers to estates that were originally classified as second growths but produce wines that can rival the quality of first growths. Leoville Barton has always been known for its high quality and reasonable pricing. It was only after the 2000 vintage that the prices of their wines significantly increased.The estate is owned by Anthony Barton, and it has a sister estate called Langoa Barton, which is classified as a third growth. Although located in Saint-Julien, Leoville Barton wines exhibit a distinct Pauillac character. They have a higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, resulting in full-bodied and rich wines. With extended aging of over a decade, the tannins become balanced and refined, showcasing the wine's excellent aging potential.
