In the year 2000, Samantha O'Keefe, who grew up in California, was working in television. During that same year, she and her husband, along with their five-month-old son, traveled to South Africa and stumbled upon a farm in the Greyton area, surrounded by rolling mountains and steep slopes. Her husband jokingly suggested they stay and make wine there, but to their surprise, Samantha fell in love with the place and wanted her child to grow up in this beautiful setting.
They purchased a 740-acre farm and named it Lismore Estate Vineyards, making it their new home in South Africa. Over the course of more than a decade, Samantha's hard work finally paid off. The wines from Lismore Estate Vineyards received high praise and ratings from renowned experts like Robert Parker, and they have been honored multiple times in prestigious wine publications like Decanter and Wine Advocate. Samantha's dedication and efforts have brought about well-deserved recognition for the vineyard.
