Marcel Lapierre

The estate owns 11 hectares of vineyards with an average vine age of 45 years. Following traditional winemaking methods, Marcel is able to produce Gamay wines that are true to their original flavors and showcase the terroir characteristics. Marcel is a legendary figure in the Morgon region, not only as a pioneer of organic and biodynamic cultivation but also as one of the very few Beaujolais winemakers who do not add any sulfur dioxide to their wines. Thanks to Marcel's relentless efforts, the estate obtained organic certification in 2006 and began focusing on natural, biodynamic cultivation of old vines. Morgon is one of the ten excellent villages classified under the highest level of the Beaujolais Cru classification system, and it is considered one of the most important terroirs. The unique geological conditions in Morgon give the wines charming aromas of cherries and licorice, with great aging potential.
