Marchand Tawse

Pascal Marchand is an individualistic winemaker who, in his early twenties and without any background in the field, ventured into the wine world in 1983. He took on the challenging task of harvest work in one of the most demanding wine regions. Continuously visiting wineries to learn his craft, he briefly stayed at Domaine de la Vougeraie . His first well-known estate was "Domaine Comte Armand" in the Pommard region, where he quickly mastered the techniques of the estate and propelled it towards biodynamic practices, all based on his belief in the winemaking philosophy of Henri Jayer.

In 1985, at the age of 23, Pascal made a life-changing phone call to the legendary Burgundian winemaker Henri Jayer, inquiring about the cold soaking technique invented by Mr. Jayer. Henri graciously invited Pascal for an in-depth discussion, sharing every detail about the origins and intricacies of the cold soaking method. This encounter had a profound impact on Pascal, shaping his approach to precise quality control and a strong emphasis on vineyard health .
