This winery boasts a history of over 150 years and is located in the renowned wine region of Rioja, Spain. Alongside Marques de Murrieta, it is considered one of the two major winemaking families in Spain. In 1895, the winery achieved the highest honor at the 13th Bordeaux World Exhibition, becoming the first non-French winery to receive this prestigious award. This recognition has filled the winery with pride to this day, and they even display the certificate of that highest honor on the front label of their Reserva wine as a commemoration. Additionally, in 2011, the esteemed British wine magazine "Drinks International" selected this winery as one of the top ten most popular wine brands worldwide.

In recent years, the winery has made efforts to enhance the quality of its winemaking and has enlisted the expertise of two renowned French winemakers, Guy Guimberteau from Bordeaux University and Paul Pontallier from Chateau Margaux, as consultants. This demonstrates their exceptional strength and commitment to excellence.
