Miani

Miani is located in the top area of Friuli Colli Orientali DOC in northeastern Italy. It was founded in 1985 and has 16 hectares of vineyards. The winemaker, Enzo Pontoni, is an engineer who has a passion for grape cultivation. He took over the ancient vineyards from his late father and mainly grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and indigenous grapes such as Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Pignolo, Tazzelenghe, Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Schiopettino. Even the founder of Vinous, Antonio Galloni, left an impressive review for this winery, saying, "Anyone who is lucky enough to find Miani wines should not hesitate, as they are even better than the best of Italy." With an annual production of only 8,000 bottles of "rare" wine, it can be considered a brilliant gem in the crown.
