Domaine Michel Bouzereau

Domaine Michel Bouzereau is one of the most popular wineries in Meursault. Since 2020, it has been awarded the prestigious three-star rating in the "Best French Wine Guide," putting it on par with Domaine d'Auvenay. Despite having a different style, Domaine Michel Bouzereau is highly regarded by the current owner of Coche Dury. These two wineries share the same core philosophy: high standards and elevating their wines to the pinnacle of the region.

It is worth mentioning that Michel Bouzereau's Meursault 1er cru Perrières is no less impressive than Coche Dury. Both wines have received the highest honor of three stars in our "Best French Wine Guide." Winery owner Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau observes the fruit's growth in the vineyards throughout the seasons. He firmly believes in precise harvest timing to achieve optimal ripeness for the grapes. His philosophy revolves around diligent cultivation, harvesting at the right moment, and minimal intervention to allow the grapes to naturally develop into wines that best represent their terroir. He often says, "A Meursault should showcase the depth and quality of Meursault." Through 20 years of observation and experimentation in the cellar, Jean-Baptiste produces pure and full-bodied wines that accurately reflect the characteristics of each terroir.

The Bouzereau family has a long-standing history as winemakers in the village of Meursault. Jean-Baptiste, the seventh generation, spent ten years learning about vineyard cultivation and winemaking under his father, Michel. He took over the estate in 1999, which consists of 12.7 hectares of vineyards, with 11 hectares dedicated to white grapes. The majority of the vineyards are located in Meursault, including the outstanding premier cru sites of Perrières and Genevrières.
