Muga

Bodegas Muga is located in the Rioja wine region of Spain and is one of the well-known wineries in the area. It was also one of the first wineries in the Rioja region to open its doors to the public. The estate has been owned and managed by the Muga family. One unique aspect of Bodegas Muga is that it has its own cooperage, making it the only winery in Spain with a master cooper and three coopers in its cellar.The vineyards of Bodegas Muga are situated in the Rioja Alta subregion and benefit from exceptional terroir conditions. The vineyards have excellent geographical positioning and favorable orientations. They are influenced by multiple climates, including Mediterranean, Atlantic, and continental influences. The soils in the vineyards are primarily composed of limestone-rich clay, which contributes to longer grape maturation periods. This longer ripening process allows the grapes to develop more complex aroma molecules, resulting in wines with rich and concentrated flavors.
