The winery was founded by Angela Quiblier and Hugo Foizel. Originally, they both worked at Domaine des Jeunes Pousses. Angela initially studied food science in Canada but returned to France, her birthplace in Jura. There, she connected with the esteemed winery "Stephane Tissot" and pursued winemaking studies. She is an active individual who has traveled to various renowned Burgundy estates to learn winemaking. She worked with Lalou Bize Leroy at Domaine Leroy, collaborated with Ludivine Griveau at Hospices de Beaune, and ultimately joined Thibault Liger-Belair. Her winemaking experience is incredibly diverse.

Hugo, on the other hand, was born in the Champagne region and began his apprenticeship at various wineries at a young age. He completed a professional winemaking diploma specific to the Champagne region. His most remarkable experiences include studying at Domaine de la Romanée Conti and Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé.

The winery follows biodynamic principles, employing entirely natural methods without the use of additives. They use only natural yeasts and do not filter or clarify their wines. This Beaujolais Gamay from Obora is a delightful surprise.

Obora is located in the Chenas area of southern Beaujolais, in Burgundy, France. The name "Chenas" translates to "oak tree" in French, as the region was once covered in oak trees. Beaujolais has ten designated "Cru" vineyard areas, and Chenas is the smallest in size. The soil in Chenas is poor and consists mainly of decomposed granite and sandy soil. As a result, grapevines have to dig deep for nutrients, absorbing various elements that enhance the complexity of the wine. Chenas wines are known for their silky texture and enjoyable drinking experience.
