Piancornello

Piancornello was founded in 1991, but the Montalcino farmhouse has been owned by Zefiro, the grandfather of Claudio Monaci, since 1950. He was the first to plant Sangiovese grapes for Brunello production, and now the estate covers about 10 hectares. It is currently managed by Claudio Monaci and Silvia Batazzi, with Monaci as the winemaker. The family has been working hard for four generations to preserve the estate and its traditions, with a focus on organic and biodynamic farming to produce the best Sangiovese grapes. They also strive to pass on the estate to their two daughters, Emma and Caterina.
