Pierre Henri Rougeot

Pierre Henri Rougeot is a young winemaker from DOMAINE ROUGEOT, a family winery with a long history in Meursault. He learned about agriculture and winemaking from his father since he was a child. After graduating, Henri worked at Domaine de Montille for a period of time, then went on to work at one of the most prestigious cooperages in France, selling barrels to well-established wineries in Burgundy such as Philippe Alliet, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and Jean-Francois Ganevat. This experience allowed him to get up close and personal with the cellars of these renowned winemakers and learn from their dedication, passion, and skills. In 2010, Pierre Henri returned to his family winery and drew inspiration from Lalou Bize-Leroy, using whole cluster grapes and minimal sulfur to produce impeccable wines. In 2017, he launched the "Pierre Henri Rougeot" project, sourcing grapes from his family domaine and friends. His white wines are exceptional and his red wines are charming. With his experience in selling oak barrels, he deliberately chooses barrels that have minimal impact on the wine, allowing the terroir to shine through. The result is a range of terroir-driven wines, making him one of the most exciting new winemakers.
