Prophet’s Rock

Prophet's Rock is a young winery, also known as the "Prophet's Stone," as a tribute to the 19th-century gold prospectors and their spirit of exploration and discovery. It was founded in 1999 in Central Otago, New Zealand, where the vineyards are planted on ancient glacial terraces with ideal climate conditions and soil structure, making it a promising winery in New Zealand. In 2005, Paul Pujol joined the winery, with a passion for cool-climate regions, particularly in France and the United States, advocating minimal intervention and expressing terroir. His winemaking journey began in Marlborough, but he went on to study winemaking techniques in different regions, starting with Maison Kuentz-Bas in Alsace, France, where he crafted Grand Cru wines. He also had the opportunity to work and learn from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, taking his winemaking skills to the next level. Prophet's Rock wines are known for their harmony, balance, and expression of the best terroir in Central Otago.
