Pyramid Valley Vineyards

The winery is located in the Canterbury wine region of New Zealand and is a family-run estate owned by Claudia and Mike. They arrived in New Zealand in 1996, initially working at the Neudorf Vineyards in the Nelson region. In 2000, the couple purchased a vineyard in Canterbury and established their own winery.

Claudia is a staunch supporter of biodynamic principles and manages the vineyard accordingly, while Mike learned winemaking and grape cultivation in Burgundy, France. He has worked in several European wineries, accumulating a wealth of experience. The couple views wine as a spirit, and the winemaker's role is to coax it from the land into the bottle.

The winery prefers extended fermentation periods, during which the wine is carefully protected, eliminating the need for added sulfur dioxide. With prolonged fermentation, the wine becomes very stable, thus requiring no filtration before bottling.
