Ron Zacapa

Ron Zacapa is located in Guatemala and was founded in 1876. The distillery takes its name from the city of Zacapa, where it originated. As the city grew bustling and even established a train station, people from all walks of life settled there. In 1976, the distillery celebrated its first centennial. Being the largest rum producer at the time, in 1997, Ron Zacapa Rum was rated as an outstanding Superlative rum by the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago. Furthermore, Ron Zacapa Centenario won the gold medal in the top rum category at the International Rum Festival for five consecutive years from 1998 to 2002. In 2003, it became the first rum to enter the festival's Hall of Fame. The distillery has received numerous awards, partly attributed to its climate and location. Situated at an altitude of over 2,300 meters, the "Distillery in the Clouds" produces its rum using the Solera system, allowing for slow aging. The distillery describes its rums as having the taste of "heaven."
