Schafer-Frohlich Bockenauer is located in the lesser-known paradise of Nahe, Germany. The name of the winery translates to "Happy Shepherd" in German. With a history spanning 200 years, it is considered one of the greatest wineries in Germany, particularly renowned for its "GG" (Grosses Gewächs) wines. The winemaker, Tim Fröhlich, is highly acclaimed and has propelled the winery to the forefront of the global wine scene. In 2010, he was named "Winemaker of the Year."

In terms of wine, Felsenberg and Stromberg are the winery's single vineyard offerings, representing the flagship wines. The vineyards predominantly feature volcanic soils, and the average age of the vines is over 70 years. The style of these wines is characterized by a refreshing and mineral-driven profile, with a good level of acidity. While mature and full-bodied, they also possess a "concentrated saltiness," making them intriguing and unique. When Robert Parker sampled these wines, he declared Schafer-Frohlich as the most exciting estate in Germany, stating that there is nothing more thrilling than Schafer Frohlich in Germany. This time, they also offer Pinot Noir, bringing another surprise to wine enthusiasts.
