Schloss Lieser

Located in the Mosel wine region, Fritz Haag is a world-renowned German winery. When Robert Parker selected the most representative wineries globally, Fritz Haag was among them. Thomas Haag, the eldest son, took over the Fritz Haag estate in 2005.

In 1992, fresh out of Germany's prestigious winemaking school, Geisenheim Hochschule, Thomas was recruited to work at Schloss Lieser Winery in Lieser village. His arrival swiftly led to a significant improvement in the winery's quality. In 1997, Thomas purchased the estate, becoming the new owner and joining the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter). Fritz Haag was awarded the highest rating of five bunches of grapes by the Gault & Millau Guide, alongside only 11 other wineries in all of Germany to achieve this esteemed recognition.
