Shinobu

The name "Shinobu" in Japanese means "perseverance" and symbolizes the spirit of Bushido, akin to the dedication required to craft a good whisky over time with unwavering commitment. The master blender, Ken Usami, aims to experiment with blending and create new flavors by combining Japanese and international spirits. This belief gave birth to the first batch of Shinobu Whisky, the "Mizunara Oak Finish," which embodies this spirit.

The rarity of Mizunara oak lies in the high cost of the raw material. It takes around 200 years or more for a Mizunara tree to reach full maturity, and Japan strictly regulates the felling of Mizunara trees below 80 years old, limiting the availability of suitable wood for cask production. However, when harmoniously blended with other flavors, Mizunara imparts a distinct aroma of sandalwood, coconut, spices, and Japanese incense. The resulting taste is rich but not overly sweet, creating the renowned "Eastern Zen flavor" that is cherished both domestically and internationally.
