Taschlerhof

Taschlerhof has been around since 1851 and was owned by the Verginer family at the time. The current owners, Margit and Peter, are the great-grandparents of Margit Verginer and Peter Wachtler. Margit is the hostess and Peter is her husband and winemaker, with a wealth of experience. As early as 1990, he started making wine in the vineyards near his hometown of Brixen in South Tyrol, working hard in the steep vineyards. His diligence paid off and he received recognition from various renowned wine guides, including the prestigious "Tre Bicchieri" award from Gambero Rosso.

The winery is located in Alto Adige, South Tyrol, in northern Italy, where the white grape varieties thrive. Therefore, Peter focuses on four white grape varieties: Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Riesling, and Sylvaner. The climate is excellent, with the vineyards located in a valley basin and plenty of sunlight. The poor slate soil provides a unique mineral flavor. The winery also welcomes visitors to their hotel, Gnollhof, where Peter can take you on a wine tour and show you around the area. The altitude is 1160 meters, and the air is fresh. Enjoying the panoramic view of the mountains while sipping on wine and dining is a truly idyllic experience.
