Vadiaperti is located in Montefredane Avellino, in southern Italy's Campania region. It was founded in 1984 by Raffaele Troisi and has been passed down through generations in his family. Raffaele was a passionate man who devoted his life to wine, and his great-grandfather was already importing wine from the United States in 1900, purchasing high-quality wine for resale. The winery places great importance on two local grape varieties: Fiano and Coda di Volpe. However, Raffaele passed away at a young age, and his wife Elisa worked hard to maintain the winery. She is not only a hard worker but also a genius who can determine the health of the vines and the ideal harvest time through visual and tactile cues alone. Their son Antonio brought the winery into the commercial domain and bottled the first single-variety Fiano wine in 1984. The vineyards are located around Montefredane and range in altitude from 1,200 to 2,100 feet. They are planted in mineral-rich volcanic "tufo" soil and have an age range of 25 to 70 years. The grapes are hand-picked, whole-cluster pressed, and fermented with native yeast in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for several months to two years in the lees in the tanks, resulting in a perfectly balanced and refined white wine. The winery was also the first to sell a single-variety Fiano wine and has now added Coda di Volpe and Greco to their lineup of native varieties.
