Located in the heart of Chianti Classico, Vecchie Terre di Montefili boasts a history that dates back to 986 AD, when the land was cultivated by Benedictine monks. In the 1970s, the Acuti family planted the vineyards, marking the beginning of Vecchie Terre di Montefili as we know it today. By 2000, Montefili became the first organic vineyard in the region, committed to promoting sustainable viticulture. Guided by a mission to continually improve, remain open-minded, and embrace growth, Montefili has built a deep heritage while ensuring a bright future for generations to come.

In 2015, Montefili attracted American investors Nicola Marzovilla, Frank Bynum, and Tom Peck Jr., who acquired the estate. They upheld the winery’s vision while strengthening its overall capabilities. Under the leadership of winemaker Serena Gusmeri, Montefili wines have garnered worldwide acclaim. Serena's philosophy respects nature, tradition, and the art of winemaking. Her goal is to craft wines that authentically express the unique terroir of Montefili. Each vineyard is cultivated and vinified separately, maximizing the potential of the grapes. The estate’s oldest vineyard, planted in 1975, operates without pesticides, maintaining ecological balance and achieving natural self-regulation.

Anfiteatro: The Super Cru of Montefili
Anfiteatro is the winery’s Super Cru—a rare and exceptional wine with a production of just over 3,000 bottles. It comes from a single vineyard planted with the estate’s oldest vines. The wine is packed with complex aromas of dried cherries, ripe nectarines, orange peel, figs, and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, it is velvety smooth, elegant, and distinctive, with a long and memorable finish.

Bruno di Rocca: A Revolutionary Blend
Another standout is Bruno di Rocca, a revolutionary wine from the estate. This blend combines the estate’s historic Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grapes. The result is a bold and layered wine with notes of stewed blackberries, licorice, and a touch of mint. It has a striking flavor profile, rich complexity, and an intense, lingering finish.
