The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru la Romanée was showing more fruit intensity than the Caillerets when I tasted it from barrel, hints of citrus peel, Mirabelle and jasmine gently wafting from the glass. The palate is crisp and taut with the edginess of the Boudriotte, demonstrating the same weight and intensity on the finish that is long and satisfying. This is a harmonious, engaging and 'complete' Chassagne-Montrachet.

Allen Meadows - Burghound 93
A hint of reduction does little to mask the hallmark exoticism of the white orchard fruit aromas that are liberally laced with floral, spice and Asian-style tea hints. There is excellent volume to the caressing yet powerful medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of palate coating sap, all wrapped in a sleek, focused and wonderfully long finish. I should note that while this is not super complex at present the underlying material is so good that more is almost assuredly on the way and my score assumes this depth will develop.
