Canon

Chateau Canon is located in the ancient town of Saint Emilion on the right bank of Bordeaux. It is classified as one of the Premier Grand Cru Classé estates of Saint Emilion. Its history dates back to the 18th century, and it was officially named Chateau Canon in 1853. In 1996, it was purchased by the fashion brand Chanel, which also owns another renowned winery, Rauzan Segla. Both wineries share the expertise of John Kolasa (former manager of Chateau Latour), who serves as the general manager overseeing all the affairs of the estates.Chateau Canon follows classical traditional winemaking methods. It is crafted using 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc grapes and aged for 18 months in 50% new oak barrels. In contrast to the trend of producing powerful and concentrated red wines in Bordeaux, Canon's wines exhibit a more refined and delicate charm, making them truly exceptional. With the full support of the Chanel group, Chateau Canon has undergone a remarkable transformation, rising above its previous challenges. Surprisingly, despite the improvements, the prices of its wines have not soared excessively.
