Chateau de La Tour

Clos de Vougeot is a prestigious vineyard located in the Burgundy region of France. It is adjacent to renowned vineyards such as Musigny and Grands Échezeaux. While names like DRC (Domaine de la Romanée-Conti) and Leroy are often associated with Burgundy, it is worth noting that Clos de Vougeot is actually the largest Grand Cru vineyard in the region.Chateau de La Tour, one of the prominent wineries, is situated within Clos de Vougeot. It owns a vineyard of nearly six hectares, with one hectare boasting century-old vines (vieilles vignes) planted in 1910. François Labet, the current owner of the estate, inherited it from his mother in 1986. His father was the proprietor of Domaine Pierre Labet.For the past 20 years, François Labet has been committed to organic farming and manual harvesting. The grapes undergo a cold maceration process at temperatures of around 6 or 7℃ for at least seven days. This technique helps to extract deeper color, finer tannins, vibrant fruit aromas, and a richer mouthfeel.
