Azienda Agricola Fratelli Cigliuti is a small family estate that has been residing in the historic village of Neive in Italy's Piedmont region since the 1300s. After the hardships of World War II, Piedmont was stricken with poverty, and many people chose to leave. However, the owner, Renato Cigliuti, decided to stay and continue winemaking. The estate spans 7.5 hectares of vineyards, producing approximately 30,000 bottles per year‼️ Renato was already a forward-thinking man at that time, implementing "Green Harvest" practices. However, in the impoverished region, his neighbors thought he was crazy for discarding grapes, seeing it as a waste. But everything was done in pursuit of crafting high-quality wines, emphasizing quality over quantity.
Among their wines, "Barbaresco Serraboella" undergoes fermentation using indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. It is then aged in Slavonian oak botti and French oak tonneaux (500-litre barrels). On the other hand, "Nebbiolo Langhe" is aged in stainless steel tanks and Slavonian oak botti. Cigliuti is a family dedicated to cultivating the land and producing quality wines, showcasing the best that Barbaresco has to offer. They prioritize agriculture and approach both the vineyards and winemaking with a forward-thinking mindset.
