DAOU Vineyards was originally known as "Hoffman Mountain Ranch Winery" when it was founded by Stanley Hoffman in 1964. In 2012, Daniel Daou and his two brothers purchased the vineyard and Daniel became the head winemaker. They officially renamed the winery "DAOU Vineyards."
The vineyards at DAOU Vineyards are "SIP Certified," meaning they adhere to strict monitoring and management practices. The grapes are carefully hand-pruned, harvested, sorted, destemmed, and undergo skin contact before being aged in new French oak barrels.
One of their most prestigious wines is "Soul of a Lion," which represents the winery's flagship and pinnacle offering. It is like the shining diamond on the crown of the winery. However, the primary purpose behind this wine is to honor their father, Joseph Daou. It is a wine with exceptional aging potential and is a collaborative creation by Daniel Daou and Georges Daou.
