Dauzac

Chateau Dauzac is located in the Margaux appellation of the Medoc region in Bordeaux, France. It was classified as a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru) in the renowned 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The estate has a long history that can be traced back to the late 12th century. However, it wasn't until the mid-16th century that the estate began to truly focus on winemaking. Pierre Drouillard, a Bordeaux wine merchant and the then French Minister of Finance, became the manager of the estate. Under his leadership, Chateau Dauzac gradually became one of the finest estates in the Medoc.In 1863, the Johnston family, who also owned Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou, purchased the estate. It was during their ownership that the iconic yellow label was introduced for the wines of Chateau Dauzac. The estate's philosophy revolves around respecting the power of the land, the diversity of living organisms, and the DNA of wine itself. As a result, they promote the preservation and continuation of biodiversity. While upholding tradition, Chateau Dauzac also emphasizes innovation and the exploration of new approaches in winemaking.
