The grapes for the winery are sourced from the cool Carneros appellation in Napa Valley, specifically from Hyde Vineyard. The director of HdV is none other than Aubert de Villaine himself, who is also one of the renowned figures behind Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), garnering worldwide attention. His experience and expertise are unquestionable. For those who appreciate Burgundy wines, Aubert de Villaine has a plethora of stories to tell. The interplay between him and Lalou Bize-Leroy alone is a fascinating topic for wine enthusiasts. However, let's not forget that Aubert de Villaine was also a judge at the 1976 Paris Wine Tasting, where he recognized the potential and prowess of California wines. With his reputation, establishing a winery in California was held to the highest standards in the industry.HdV is well aware of this, and they produce only four wines exclusively from their own Hyde Vineyard. Their aim is to have complete control over the entire process, from cultivation to winemaking.
