Domaine Michel Noellat is located in the heart of Vosne-Romanee and boasts approximately 30 hectares of vineyards. Founded by Charles Noellat, he was not only a mentor to wine legend Henri Jayer but also greatly admired by Lalou Leroy. The Noellat family is extensive, and Michel Noellat is known for offering wines with great value for money.

Starting in the 19th century, Charles Noellat's cousin, Felix Noellat, acquired the land where the estate stands today. Felix's great-grandson married a cousin of Henri Jayer, and their son, Michel Noellat, inherited the estate. After Michel's passing in 1989, the responsibility has now passed on to the sixth generation, managed by siblings Sebastien Noellat and Sophie Noellat, continuing the family legacy.

In terms of vineyard management, the estate upholds traditional techniques and winemaking philosophies, refraining from using herbicides and pesticides, opting for entirely manual harvesting and destemming. After fermentation, the wines are aged in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, with a low percentage of new barrels— even for Grand Cru wines, the new barrel usage does not exceed 50%. While respecting tradition, Michel Noellat embraced innovation. In 1980, he excavated an arched stone cellar underground, and in 2007, modern winemaking facilities were introduced, featuring 40 temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and a tasting cellar, blending tradition with modern advancements—a rare and commendable feat.
