The French wine magazine La Revue du Vin de France states: "The winery produces classic and quite powerful wines, which, in recent years, have shown even greater appreciation for the terroir."

Domaine Pierre Damoy, located in Gevrey-Chambertin, was founded by Julien Damoy in the 1920s. The winery had faded from the limelight among Burgundy's many renowned names until 1992, when current owner Pierre Damoy took over from his uncle Jacques. He quickly brought the winery back to the ranks of Burgundy's leading wineries. The wines produced are classic in style, rich and powerful, while fully reflecting the characteristics of the terroir, with excellent finesse and aromas. Under Pierre Damoy's skillful hands, the prices of the wines have gradually increased.

Pierre Damoy once told the author of the well-known wine website Burgundy Report, "I use very little sulfur because it gives me a headache." He also pointed out, "My pressing method is very different now, lighter and longer, and the bottled wine is less compact and easier to drink than before." At the same time, Pierre Damoy still hopes that these wines can still develop elegantly in the bottle.
