Rafael Palacios is an iconic Spanish winemaker renowned for crafting some of the country's most exceptional white wines. Breaking away from his famous red-wine-focused brother, Álvaro Palacios, Rafael established his own project in the remote Valdeorras DO region of Galicia in 2004. He focuses exclusively on the indigenous Godello grape, championing organic and biodynamic practices on high-altitude, terraced vineyards with distinctive decomposed granite soils.

Palacios is celebrated for producing elegant, mineral-driven wines with remarkable freshness and complexity. His approach involves using large format French oak foudres and minimal intervention to preserve the pure expression of the terroir.

His flagship wine, Sorte O Soro, is a single-vineyard masterpiece that has achieved perfect 100-point scores from critics like Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, cementing its status as one of Spain's greatest white wines. Other notable expressions include the entry-level Louro and the complex As Sortes.
