Robert Groffier

Founded in the 19th century by Frederick Groffier, Robert Groffier is located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis. After Frederick, his son Jules took over the estate and began acquiring vineyards. In the mid-20th century, under the management of Robert Groffier, the estate started to focus on developing its own brand. The winery encompasses approximately 7 hectares of vineyards, with notable plots including "Les Amoureuses," "Chambertin-Clos de Beze," and "Bonnes-Mares." Sadly, Robert Groffier passed away in June 2020, but Nicolas has successfully carried on the estate's top-notch techniques and winemaking culture.

Robert Groffier Père & Fils, which had already gained recognition, is now considered one of the best wineries in Burgundy. Their wines have been prominently featured in the popular Japanese manga series "Les Gouttes de Dieu" ("Drops of God"), particularly highlighting Robert Groffier's wines, especially the iconic Les Amoureuses vineyard. With 1.12 hectares, it is the largest landholding of the estate and produces wines that are representative of the winery's style. It is highly recommended to try their wines.
