The 2016 Blason de l'Evangile is made up of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it features lovely warm red fruit notes—kirsch, raspberry pie and redcurrants—with a core of black plums, cracked pepper, pencil shavings and cloves. Medium-bodied, elegant, refreshing and packed with vivacious red berry flavors, it has a fine-grained texture and long perfumed finish.

There’s pretty decadence and richness to the second wine of L’Evangile with chocolate, meat and spicy character. Very deep sweetness of fruit. Medium body, ripe and round tannins and a flavorful finish.

Wine Enthusiast 92

This perfumed wine holds attractive Cabernet Franc that adds structure to the Merlot. Rich with tannins and full of juicy fruit, the wine is already soft and open. It has fruitiness as well as a structure that will allow it to age over the medium term.
