Domaine Franco Chinois is a winery located in Huailai County, Hebei Province, and is a joint venture between China and France. The estate covers an area of approximately 23 hectares and since its establishment in 2001, all grape vines have been imported from France for grafting. Currently, the estate grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Marselan, and Petit Manseng. The Huailai region has a temperate, semi-arid continental monsoon climate with distinct seasons and abundant sunlight throughout the year. The large temperature differences between day and night, as well as the surrounding mountains and four powerful monsoon winds from the Yongding River, Sanggan River, Yanghe River, and Guishui River, provide a dry environment that promotes healthy grape growth. With a dedicated and persistent attitude, the Franco-Chinese estate has achieved a perfect blend with the terroir of Huailai, resulting in outstanding quality wines. Currently, the estate produces three series of wines: Grand Reserve, Reserve, and East Garden. These wines have not only won top awards in major domestic wine competitions, but have also stood out in various international competitions, receiving widespread attention and recognition. In particular, the 2015 Petit Manseng and 2014 East Garden were awarded gold and silver medals respectively at the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards. As a leading brand of boutique wines, the wines from Domaine Franco Chinois can be found in many hotels, boutique restaurants, and wine bars in Beijing and Shanghai.
