La Tour Carnet

The château can be traced back to the 12th century and is undoubtedly one of the oldest estates in the Bordeaux region. It was also classified as a Fourth Growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux Classification. During the Middle Ages, it served as the origin of the Saint-Laurent town. The castle architecture reflects medieval style, and its name, "Carnet," is derived from a famous brave knight and squire named Carnet. He fought for Lord Jean de Foi, and his fearless sacrifice earned him the right to inherit this property.After changing hands multiple times, the estate was purchased by its current owner, Bernard Magrez, in 1999. The renowned wine consultants Michel Rolland and Jean Cordeau are involved in the winemaking process, further enhancing the wine's quality and reputation.
