The Cantenac Brown, tasted three times, is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot cropped between 13th and 29th September finishing with the former. The nose is crisp and focused, not complex but demonstrating nicely integrated oak and fine minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fins acidity. This is elegant, harmonious and a damn fine Margaux for the vintage that will offer medium-term drinking. Tasted April 2012.

James Suckling 90

This wine shows blueberry and raspberry character on the nose and palate. Full body with a pretty core of bright, tangy fruit and hints of citrus. Needs four or five years to soften. Better in 2018.
