The top-of-the-range in Carménère is the 2019 Carmín de Peumo, which showed superbly in the 2019 vintage. It's a powerful yet balanced and elegant example of what the variety can do in Peumo in Cachapoal, the most famous place for the grape in Chile. It was selected from plot 32 in their vineyards and has a clear varietal profile of spices, herbs, leaves and tobacco and is balanced, ripe without excess, with good freshness. It has very fine, abundant tannins and a persistent and long finish with notes of cigar ash, espresso coffee and black chocolate. It should develop nicely in bottle. 6,600 bottles were filled in November 2020.

Beautifully rendered on the nose, with sweet tobacco leaves, red chili pepper, currants, dark chocolate, cigar box and a fine touch of spice. Very juicy, bright and silky with a smooth, coherent, medium-to full-bodied palate. Very precise and effortless with immaculate tannins and a very long, racy finish. Carmenere, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.
