Founded in 2021 by Valentine and Stéphane Mathieu, the name "Valma" poetically bridges the valley (Val) with the nourishing soul (Alma). As a modern guardian of the vine, Valentine—mentored by natural wine legends—balances ancestral low-intervention with crystalline precision.

Their portfolio defends the prestige of Gamay through distinct terroirs. La Madone captures the village’s "Queen" status with silken tannins and floral elegance in its classic form. The spotlight, however, often falls on Les Labourons. While the standard label offers old-vine structure and granite-driven depth, the "Face B" Les Labourons presents a zero-sulfur manifesto—unfiltered, vibrant, and fiercely alive, representing the experimental edge of the estate.

The 2023 vintage marks a triumphant chapter for this new guard. Eschewing the extreme heat of previous years, 2023 returns to a classic harmony of bright acidity and succulent red fruit. It is a vintage of tension and grace, proving that under the watch of producers like Valma, Beaujolais has evolved into a terroir of serious longevity and artistic transparency.
