The 2019 Gran Reserva is long-aged, about three years in French and American oak with another year in bottle. The herbal aromatics lead to an elegant, rounded midpalate of medium-bodied richness and grip, highlighted by notes of dark chocolate, licorice, balsamic, and cinnamon. The wine is structured and still grippy but starting to coalesce into its beautiful self. The tremendous length of the wine should continue to develop.

Beautifully aged, picking up spiced and savory depth from time in cellar. Dried tobacco, a pleasing waft of smoke, anise seed, and orange zest layer into bramble and wild berries, wet tobacco, and an earthy mineral finish. Tannins are youthful with great promise, balancing acidity. Enjoy with a meal and decanting or allow to develop further in cellar. Lovely Gran Reserva.
