Billecart Salmon

Billecart Salmon was founded in 1818, born out of a deeply romantic love story between Nicolas François Billecart and his wife Elisabeth Salmon. Together, they established their own Champagne house in the small village of Mareuil-sur-Ay. Today, the estate has been passed down through seven generations, continuing the couple's winemaking techniques and upholding strict quality standards and a pursuit of excellence. This has led to the international recognition and acclaim of the Billecart Salmon brand.

One of their notable creations is the Billecart Salmon Cuvee Nicolas Francois, which was first introduced in 1964 as a tribute to the founder of the estate. Another remarkable champagne from the house is the Billecart-Salmon Cuvée Louis Salmon, named in honor of the estate's first winemaker, Louis Salmon. This champagne is made exclusively from grapes sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, with 33% of the blend aged in oak barrels. It spends 11 years aging in the bottle before being released. Elisabeth Salmon, the wife of the first owner, is also honored with a champagne named after her.
