The 2015 is only the fourth vintage of this cuvée to be produced, following the legendary 1947, 1990 and 2011. The 2015 Vouvray Goutte d'Or unfurls from the glass with a complex, layered bouquet of quince, ripe pear, herbs, ivy, wild strawberries and spices. Incredibly dense and concentrated without ever feeling heavy, it is anchored by a fleshy core of fruit and a refined, elegant mid-palate lifted by bright acidity. The finish is nothing short of extraordinary—ethereal, lingering and seemingly weightless. Combining profound power with remarkable finesse, this ranks among the finest sweet wines I have ever encountered. Residual sugar: 200 grams per liter.
